Debra McClaughry is not an AI vendor. She is an AI and operations consultant with 35 years of operations experience across construction and professional services, running business systems, building processes, and solving the operational problems that slow firms down. She came to AI the same way her clients do, from the operator's seat, not the developer's seat, and she brings that perspective to every engagement.
Before building DMI, Debra worked as a fractional COO for small and mid-size firms. That background is what separates her from consultants who come from technology. She knows what good operations look like before AI enters the picture, which means she knows exactly where it helps and where it creates more work than it solves.
Most AI consultants come from technology. They know the tools well and the business operations less well. Debra comes at it from the other side. She understands how a firm actually runs, how proposals get written, how RFPs get tracked, how principals get buried in documentation, and she builds AI into those workflows rather than around them.
She works primarily with proposal-driven firms in urban planning, civil engineering, environmental consulting, architecture, and construction contracting. Engagements are conducted via Zoom and built around your firm's actual workflows, not a generic use case.
She operates her business out of Oklahoma and works with clients nationwide.
